TelesisMFG EDI is a fully integrated module of TelesisMFG. TelesisMFG EDI assists the manufacturer to reduce inventories, minimize the sales cycle, reduce administrative costs, improve customer service, and allow business transactions with EDI only customers.
The TelesisMFG EDI solution is a seamless, automatic solution. Once the information is received or is transmitted, it never need be re-entered, hand-typed, or corrected. The TelesisMFG EDI solution is technology that improves the bottom line.
Full Integration
Like all TelesisMFG modules, the Telesis EDI solution is a fully integrated solution. Fully integrated means no manual intervention is needed to process EDI transaction sets to and from your trading partners. Once the information is electronically received or sent, the entire process is automatic and the data is available throughout the system. The TelesisMFG EDI solution can replace the traditional methods of communicating to your customers and vendors by replacing purchase orders, invoices, shipping notifications, quotes and the many ways businesses communicate to each other.
TelesisMFG EDI - Translation Handler
The TelesisMFG EDI solution is separated into two pieces. The TelesisMFG EDI Transaction Handler is a PC-based solution where all the trading partner transaction sets are received and sent.
When you receive trading partner transaction sets, the TelesisMFG EDI TH automatically retrieves all the transaction sets, manually or unattended, intended for your organization, time stamps, and validates the transactions. The TH reformats the trading partner transaction sets into the standard TelesisMFG format for uploading into TelesisMFG These transactions can be uploaded into the TelesisMFG Manufacturing System when you want them to be uploaded.
When sending trading partner transaction sets, the TelesisMFG Manufacturing System automatically passes the information to the EDI TH, which transmits back to the trading partners in the proper format, with full validation and audit trails in place far tracking purposes.
TelesisMFG EDI - Automatic Processing System
The TelesisMFG EDI Automatic Processing System receives and transmits the transmissions and validates all the information for accuracy before uploading and then it is disbursed throughout TelesisMFG. The validations depend on the transaction set. If errors are detected, the TelesisMFG EDI APS alerts the user to which transaction sets have errors and prevents bad data from getting into your business system. Once these errors are corrected or the transmission comes across without errors, the transactions are passed to the business system based on both the type of transaction and user defined parameters. From there the EDI transmissions are treated as any other part of the data within the system.
EDI "Standards"
TelesisMFG supports and operates in the ANSI X.12 and UCS standards, as well as the (EDIFACT) European standards of EDI transmissions. Though these are "standards," each trading partner's transaction sets are "different." They can even be different based on the trading partners location. The TelesisMFG EDI APS solution isolates you from those issues. TelesisMFG EDI APS maps every trading partner's transaction sets so that they all fit into TelesisMFG. In addition, TelesisMFG EDI APS solution supports trading partners using Value Added Networks [VAN's] as a vehicle to transmit transactions. TelesisMFG EDI APS Solution also supports both Bi-Synchronous and Asynchronous communications. This means you can virtually communicate to any trading partner, whether a customer or vendor, in any form by using the TelesisMFG EDI APS Solution.

EDI - In's and Out's
The TelesisMFG EDI APS Solution supports both incoming and outgoing transaction sets. TelesisMFG EDI supports both order processing from your customers and purchase order processing by you to your vendors.
